Portfolio Strategy

For this exercise I am creating the foundational strategy I will follow to update my personal portfolio website, RHO: Rochelle Hinds Online. The core of my strategy will consist of a style guide, wireframe, sitemap, and a content inventory list.

As I look over my content inventory list, I’m quite proud of what I’ve created and selected to share in my portfolio. I am most proud of the diverse types of content I’ve created, and how well they demonstrate my current skill set. I’m clear on how I can use my inventory together with my sitemap and wireframes to tell my personal brand story.

In looking at my work, I feel that the two strongest areas of my portfolio are graphic design and writing. They are the areas where I’ve been most prolific, and happiest overall with my creations.

In setting goals for myself regarding building my portfolio I want to challenge myself to feature video of myself talking about myself. This is one area I have steered clear of most of my career. It’s hard to sell ones self if no one sees you. The other two goals I have are to keep the site from becoming too dense or overwhelmed with content and make sure I present a balanced mixture of the types of works I feature. It would be easy to create a lot of different pages, and fill them with content. The portfolios I gravitate towards keep it short and sweet. I want to do the same with my portfolio as well.
